There is a Time
There is a time when what you are witnessing shatters your heart,
And you don’t believe that you will have the strength to carry on,
There is a time when grief overtakes you and you need someone to be there,
There is a time when you feel helpless,
There is a time when you feel hopeless,
There is a time when tears stream from your eyes,
There is a time when you are exhausted,
There is a time when you have no energy to do anything,
There is a time when fear flows through you,
There is a time when all you feel is rage,
There is a time when all you want is for someone to hold you
And to be with you as you are going through grief,
There is a time when you realize that no one is going to be there,
And stop reaching out for anyone to comfort you,
There is a time when you realize that you don't need any one to
be there because you are totally alone,
You start to realize that you can handle whatever life throws at you,
You start to learn the only one you can depend on is yourself,
You start to learn that everything you need is inside of you,
You realize that it's better to depend on yourself,
You realize that you can handle your feelings by yourself
because ever since watching your mother die, being in lock down,
you have been alone in this,
There is no one that can comfort you but yourself and you become
aware that you do not need judgement from the outside world,
You can stand on your own two feet,
You all that you need within yourself,
You are becoming independent
and standing totally on your own.
Everything you have seen has changed your perspective and you are totally different from the people in your life,
Everything you have been through has changed you,
Everything you have been through has made you grow,
and you realize that the only one that will ever be there for you
is yourself.
