In the depths of sorrow's embrace,
I wander through these somber days,
For grief has cast its shadow deep,
And changed the person I once did keep.
No longer bound by youthful glee,
A metamorphosis has come to be,
The trials and tears have etched their mark,
Leaving footprints on my weary heart.
I stand here now, a soul transformed,
By the storms that I have weathered and mourned,
Yet still I rise, from ashes anew,
For grief has shaped me, and made me true.
No longer naive, but wise and strong,
I've learned to dance to sorrow's song,
For in the depths of pain and strife,
I've discovered the depths of my own life.
So do not judge this altered soul,
For grief has made me whole,
Though changed, I've found a strength within,
To face the world, to heal, to begin.
And as I journey on this altered path,
I'll cherish the memories of who I once was,
While embracing the person I've become,
For grief has changed me, and I've overcome.
