Waves of Sadness

But behold! The tide shifts,

Clouds gathering ominously overhead,

The laughter fades into hushed tones,

As waves of sadness crash like thunder,

Heavy, relentless—

Rolling in with the weight of memories,

Like driftwood strewn upon the shore,

Haunted by whispers of what once was.

Sadness arrives without announcements,

A sudden storm obscuring the sun,

It wicks the vibrancy from the air,

Leaving only the salt of tears, stinging,

The monotony of gray skies feels endless,

As I walk along the water's edge,

Witnessing the echoes of sweet yesterdays,

Carried off, one by one,

As tides pull away,

Leaving hollows in my chest.

In the retreating waves, I see faces—

Those who have slipped through the sands,

Echoes of laughter now muted,

And yet, like the waves, sadness is temporary,

It swells then ebbs, a cycle of the heart.

In the depths, I find solace,

The comfort that comes in shared tears,

Where shoulders meet, wrapped in quiet understanding,

As we become the beacons of hope,

Guiding each other back to joy’s shore.
