I'll Be There for You is a Lie People Say, The only one who is there for me is myself

I'll be there for you, they say,

a promise wrapped in kindness,

like a soft blanket on a cold night.

Words hold warmth,

but when the chill of solitude creeps in,

those voices fade

into quiet echoes of false comfort.

I’ve seen the smiles flash,

the fleeting moments of connection,

but like shadows at twilight,

they slip away,

leaving behind a familiar stillness,

the weight of unchosen solitude.

In the crowded room,

the laughter bounces off the walls,

a symphony of voices—

yet here I stand,

an island sprinkled with the ocean of silence,

where the tide brings no hint of company,

only the gentle caress of my own thoughts.

I’ve learned to navigate this maze,

an architect of my own solace,

building walls and windows,

letting light filter through cracks

I’ve polished with the grit of experience.

In each crevice lies a story,

every pain transformed into a lesson,

every tear an artist's brushstroke

on the canvas of my resilience.

I find strength in the mirror,

the reflection gazing back

doesn’t falter,

doesn’t turn away.

Here lies my companion,

the one who knows my heart’s rhythm,

who hears the sighs that escape

when the world is too loud.

I’ve worn the labels of loneliness,

but I’ve learned to wear them well,

like a cloak tailored to my spirit.

Each thread is spun with laughter,

woven through the fabric of dreams

I dared to chase alone,

each step taken on this uncharted path.

So when the night stretches long,

and the stars twinkle like whispered promises,

I breathe in deeply,

finding peace in my own company.

The quiet is not empty;

it cradles me like an embrace,

stitching me together

when the fabric of hope threatens to fray.

I'll be there for you, they say,

and I smile,

a knowing smile,

for I have learned the truth—

the only promise that holds is the one I make to myself,

the vow to stand tall,

to walk forward into the dawn,

carrying my own weight,

a radiant spirit unbound,

a testament to the power

of my own unwavering presence.
